Carmen Langes (Theatre Arts)
About the Artist
I am Carmen and my passion is the Creative Uses of Drama and Expressive Arts. I have a BS and MS from Portland State University. My Latin and Mediterranean heritage, life experience and travels have opened the doors towards the direction I have taken in working with youth in Performing Arts. I have been an instructor in acting and creative movement classes, and director of children’s plays with schools, cultural arts programs, parks & recreation centers, and social service organizations in Oregon. My joy is in connecting with youth from many cultural and diverse backgrounds. I see every child as creative spirits seeking to self-actualize their highest potential. I believe I can explore that with them through imagination while creating a joyful, exciting and rewarding experience. I envision my actors as pallet of colors waiting to be painted into an expressive, creative picture. Without each color and stroke, the painting would not be the same. So it is with an ensemble of performers; they are the colorful cast, the inspiration, waiting to be painted and to create.
