Spring Term Classes at The Clay Place

Wednesdays, April 16 - May 14, 2008

Learn about drawing practices, composition, and understanding art. We will do a quick review of drawing fundamentals in a variety of mediums, including; pencil, charcoal, and pastels. We will explore beginning through advanced drawing techniques and will also do a brief introduction to a variety of artists and different drawing styles. Intermediate and advanced level students are welcome too!

Ages 8 - 18

Painting with Katherine Elisar

Thursdays, April 17 - May 15 , 2008

Capture the surprises of spring in this beginning painting class, led by professional artist and early childhood educator Katherine Elisar! Pastels and watercolors will be used to complete paintings each week in the studio. Students will develop their skill at using color mixing, composition and brush strokes. Come explore the power of recording the details of nature; nests, flowers, animals, all in a creative atmosphere.

Evening Kids Classes in Clay

Tuesdays & Thursdays, April 1 - June 5, 2008

Jill Stahler comes to us with experience working with both kids and clay in a studio pottery setting. We will create imaginative 3-D items and have fun putting ideas into art and bringing kids together for the great possibilities and projects which can develop. Please join us in welcoming Jill!
